Dr. Yasar Jarrar is the Strategic Advisor to the Executive President of the Dubai School of Government and served as the Executive Dean of the Dubai School of Government since it was established in 2005 until Feb 2008. Dr. Jarrar is also a Strategy Advisor at The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and a worked as Senior Advisor on public sector development at the Prime Minister's Office (United Arab Emirates Federal Government)
Prior to joining the School, Dr. Jarrar worked as the Director of the Government Performance Directorate in the Prime Ministry of Jordan, and as the Head of Policy and Strategy in the Executive Council of the Dubai Government. Dr. Jarrar is also a Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Business Performance, Cranfield School of Management (UK), and a Visiting Professor at Università degli Studi della Basilicata, Facoltà di Ingegneria (Italy).
Dr. Jarrar has also worked as Senior Advisor on public sector strategy and reform with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and at the Adam Smith Institute (UK) with various countries in the region. He has authored numerous reports and papers, and has delivered executive education programs to various regional governments and leading international organizations, including DHL, Shell, Saudi Aramco, the Bank of Scotland, and Arla Foods. His main research and teaching interests are strategy and operations management (performance management, institutional structures and policy making).
