Marwa Farag is a Research Fellow with the Dubai Initiative at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and a third-year Ph.D. student in the Health Policy concentration at The Heller School for Social Policy at Brandeis University. Before resuming her graduate studies, she worked in Iraq for Abt. Associates Inc. with the Iraq Health System Strengthening (IHSS) Program on health financing and resource allocation issues. Prior to that, she worked in Egypt on the Health Sector Reform Program as a Project Officer, Research Analyst and later as a Health Information Systems Specialist. She has master’s degrees in Health Financing from the University of London (LSE & LSHTM), and in International Health Policy from Brandeis University, as well as a B.A. in Commerce from the University of Menoufia in Egypt.

Ms. Farag’s research examines the issues involved in the health labor market in the Middle East, health financing for serious illnesses, and health financing for poor and vulnerable groups.
