As Research Associate (Knowledge Management System), Ashraf Meraj is responsible for researching, planning, developing, and publishing research documentation to support all the research activities of the DSG’s Knowledge Management System. Mr. Meraj has about eight years of experience working in the public sector. Prior to joining DSG in December 2007, he worked as Deputy Director in the National Academy for Training and Research in Social Security, India, where he was responsible for management and delivery of training to senior government officials.
From 1999-2003, Mr. Meraj served as Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner in Employees Provident Fund Organization of India, one of the largest social security benefit delivery agencies in the world. There, as a line manager he implemented government plans to deliver social security benefits to subscribers.
Mr. Meraj received his Master of Public Policy degree from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore. His policy analysis focused on the organizational capacity of a public sector organization, and its impact on the success or failure of a government policy. He received his Master in Public Administration from Lucknow University, India.
