Prior to joining the DSG as Project Manager in 2005, Arwa Al-Ali gained experience in the private sector and with nongovernmental organizations in North America, Latin America, and the Middle East. In Washington DC, Ms. Al-Ali worked at Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals’ Global Government Affairs office, where she researched potential international market opportunities and trade-related issues affecting the industry.
In Mexico, she worked as a consultant for the Board of Directors of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). In her native home, Saudi Arabia, Arwa worked with strategy development and international marketing for an international retailer. While living there, she also founded and directed the country’s first Model United Nations program.
Arwa Al-Ali holds a B.A. in International Relations from the Georgetown University Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, and studied at Duke University Fuqua School of Business, where she completed the Executive Management Program. She was also selected="true" by the U.S. Department of State to participate in the first Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) for Arab Business Women Leaders representing Saudi Arabia.
